And yet again this week, I’m struck by learning more about someone I’ve known and loved for 43 years. Thank you for that.
Sadly, my “Dear Diary” wasn’t among the keepsakes in my time capsule but I clearly remember how gratifying it was to document the earth-shattering events at my grade school and junior high. Pretty much like yours - imagine that.
I look forward to your Podcast…and your first book!
“My journal never told me to calm down or stop being so sensitive. It simply let me write.” I feel this so deeply. The journal holds space for emotions that other people were unable to tolerate.
Oh I love this post, and your final beautiful wise words. It is a constant reminder to keep tending to the fire in each of us. I am so excited and grateful to be on this journey with you! 💜
Your entries have become my little personal Sunday sermon and I love it. I was always a writer too. My 15 yr old daughter just went to France. When I went at the same age I kept a journal. I read it before she went. I am so glad I still have it. I always liked to write fiction as a kid. Because I hadn’t yet experienced life, which is always stranger than fiction! Now I’m a list maker. Entire notebooks filled front and back with lists and notes. I still use a hand written planner. It’s just how my brain works. Writing things down. The physical act of writing is comforting to me. It’s organized and makes my whirlwind of thoughts materialize. I’m really enjoying your writing. Please write the book. The times you stopped journaling…write about it now, in hindsight. All your experiences over the years are captivating me and your power for words is telling your stories perfectly!
By the way, not sure if you've seen the W&W About page. There's a photo of one of my early journal entries. You'll recognize the names — Gina, Monica, Dominic... I mean, so embarrassing!!
Oh my goodness! I can’t explain what a delight it is to read your comment, Tina! For so many reasons. I would love, love, love to talk to you about your journals and the experience with your daughter.
Thank you for reading and encouraging me to write. It means so much!

This is so sweet. Thank you. And the reference to 43 years makes me feel younger than I am. Thank you for that too.
Your time capsule contains many gems. And I love all the photos of you doing what you love — singing and acting!

The lesson here on how to be a true friend or a really great parent is so profound.

Right back at you! I really think we’re on to something.
After publishing my post, and reading yours, I do too!
